Women's Missions & Ministry
2010-2012 Watchword: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV) Critical Issue The Unethical, selfish use of human beings for the satisfaction of personal desires and/or profitable advantage.
We need every church's help!On our Facebook page we are going to list every church and each mission activity they are involved in. We want this so that everyone in the Association can get involved and see what everyone else is doing. This will give other churches ideas on what they can do and if a church is low budget or low member then they could contact another church to help with a mission they are interested in. This will bring our Association closer together like the family we are supposed to be in Christ! You can email your mission projects to Jessica Miller.
Blume 2011Save the Date! July 13-16, 2011 Make sure your 7th - 12th grade girls are going to Orlando, FL in 2011. Help them raise the funds through your church or let us know at the association office so we can help! Cindy Walker at FBC in Minden would also like anyone with girls that would like to go to please get in touch with her. Their church will have a group going and she would love to include your girls with hers. Contact FBC church at 318-377-4434 and they can get you in touch with Cindy.
College StudentsOur Association has the opportunity to minister to two college students at Louisiana Baptist College in Pineville. One of them some of you will know, Daniel Hutto is from North Acres Baptist Church in Minden. The other is a young lady from the Pineville area. I do not have her permission to put her name on the website yet. Please pray for these students and if you have the time, contact me and I can give you their addresses and you can drop them an encouraging letter or card. Maybe on their birthday some of us could include a gift card for stores or restaurants. But the main thing is to pray for them. !!!REMINDER!!!Don't forget to get your Questionnaires filled out and mailed back so the leadership team will know how to help your church. We aren't going to try to tell you what to do we just want to know what you are interested in so that when we plan events and conferences we will know what type of programs you would like. We are looking forward to working with each of you!
Do you feel like your WMU or church is too old to do missions? Here are some ideas that the smallest children or the oldest most un-able bodied people can still do!
Please Remember! The job of WMU in our churches is not to do all the missions by themselves. Their job and responsibility to our churches is to promote the mission projects, keep track of the progress and let us know what the outcome was. The whole church should be getting involved in missions. Our job is to educate and encourage people to get involved!
Adopt a MissionaryWhat is this? If your church is hosting a Missionary for the On Mission Celebration in January then we are encouraging you to get to know that Missionary and keep in touch with them. If your church is not, then we are asking you to contact us to get the name and contact information for a Missionary that you can adopt. What will I have to do? You can handle this several ways.
How do I get a Missionary?
